The Factory is located at the foot of Mount Kenya, at around 1700-1800 masl, where it was established in 1975. Today, through the aid of their mother company the Mutira Farmers’ Cooperative Society, it is able to support approximately 1700 smallholder farmers by sourcing coffee from them for processing. Over- and under ripe cherries are removed and the remainder is pulped that same day, followed by a 24-hour dry fermentation.
